Home to more than 6.5 million people, Dallas Fort Worth is a vibrant, growing metroplex spanning multiple counties in North Texas. From the historic Stockyards in Fort Worth to the nation’s largest urban arts district in downtown Dallas and the nearby fairgrounds for the largest state fair in the country, the area boasts a low cost of living, growing jobs market, and increasing home values. With some of the nation’s top schools and universities, world-class restaurants and entertainment, and hundreds of miles of green space, Dallas Fort Worth is a great place to call home.
However, poverty and crime still plague underserved areas. In the state with the highest rate of uninsured people, half of the citizens living in a state of persistent financial insecurity, and school districts with low high school graduation rates, over 28,000 nonprofits in North Texas work to improve the community and provide a better life for everyone.
